Support You Can Count On

At Central Community House, we believe in the power of community. We believe that every child, family and senior should have the resources and emergency assistance they need to reach their full potential. That’s why we operate a neighborhood-based community center in the Near East neighborhood of Columbus that offers free, comprehensive programming and community services to create a sense of community for all.

 Our Mission & Community Pillars

The mission of Central Community House is to empower people to reach their full potential, be self-supporting, and live cooperatively with all others by building community that meets the needs and nourishes the creative aspirations of one another.

Founded in 1936, Central Community House is part of the settlement house movement that brought social services to underserved neighborhoods. Today, Central Community House is a place where people get the support they need while exploring their talents and passions with each other. We are housed in the near east side of Columbus, with our central community center located at 1150 East Main Street and our English Center for Art and Community at 1251 Bryden Road.
