The CCH Child Care Center offers high quality, caring child care for ages six-weeks through five-years-old with a focus on helping children develop the skills needed to succeed in school and in life. Private pay or Title XX government subsidy is accepted for those who qualify. Call early to begin enrollment. Waiting lists may apply.
Infants (ages 6 weeks to 18 months):
In the infant classrooms, the children follow their own individual schedules as they grow. Teachers assess age-appropriate growth and plan activities based on each child’s developmental needs.
Toddlers (ages 18 months to 3 years):
Teachers in our toddler classrooms focus on the individual needs of the children, while helping them learn to become part of a group. Language arts, art, and conceptual activities are planned within a free-flowing schedule suitable to the needs of these young children. Learning centers focus on reading/numbers, development of physical skills (large movement and fine motor skills), home living and creative play.
Children ages 3 to 5 spend time on self-help, social skills, cognitive development and Kindergarten-readiness. This is done through activities such as: arts & crafts, group time (singing and reading), science exploration and pre-writing activities, field trips, large muscle play (inside and outside), fine motor skill activities, learning centers and classroom computers. Our Kindergarten Readiness Program helps prepare preschoolers for a smooth transition into their first year of school. The Kindergarten Readiness teacher helps children recognize their numbers, letters, and many other areas that help with being prepared for success in Kindergarten and the school years beyond.

“It really helps to have that extra support. I know I can go to Central staff with any needs. All the extra resources really help a one-income family budget. And the kids enjoy the library, COSI and field trips. I mainly love the community atmosphere, you can’t get that anywhere else.”
“My daughter is in the infant program and I love it! She learns and has fun at the same time, unlike other daycares who are just babysitters. My favorite thing is at the end of the day she is happy and excited to see me.”
“From the moment we walked into the Central Community House Child Care we felt welcome. The more I talked with the director, the more my reservations about placing my child in daycare were diminished. It is a wonderful feeling to know that my child is in good hands and she is excited about coming here!”
