Community Services at Central Community House
Central Community House is a neighborhood hub of activity to build quality-of-life in the community, and help families achieve and maintain stable households. At Central Community House, you will find an array of programs that aim to help those struggling with emergencies, underemployment/unemployment, and poverty. There are also many opportunities for those who want to contribute to a vibrant, healthy neighborhood. Emergency Assistance Program– Community Services Department offers help to those facing a crisis. Direct aid, referrals and support may be available to help you access rent/mortgage assistance, food programs, utility services, health care, etc. Subject to availability and restrictions apply.

Computer Lab– Our lab has computers available for community adults weekdays 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Adults may use the computers for resumes, internet access, homework etc. The Computer Lab is available weekdays 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. for children and teens..

Food and Nutrition Programs– Those enrolled in CCH programs find help in ensuring families don’t go hungry through take-home groceries, afterschool/summer meals and other programs. Community dinners and celebrations with free meals are often offered throughout the year. Our free Community Dinner takes place at 6:00 p.m. on the last Wednesday of the month except for November and December when holidays events are held instead (dates TBD).

Income Tax Filing Assistance– CCH is a site for TaxTime offering free tax services during tax season. Don’t pay for a tax preparation service. Call for details!

Senior Program –  Those aged 60 or older living in 43205, 43206 or 43207, may access assistance with basic needs, linkage/referrals to resources and an array of activities and educational workshops designed specifically for older adults. Weekly lunch, games, crafts, exercise and more are available (subject to change). Call for details. This program is funded by Franklin County Senior Options.
