Congratulations to the 2017 Village Maker Award Winners!
  • Pam Grear – Author and operator of local nonprofit Community Threads. Ms. Grear has had a career as a successful businesswoman, including the Foster Safety Corp. Now, her nonprofit feeds the minds, souls and stomachs of families in need, and provides skills training that lead to good jobs.
  • OPI (Ohio Penal Industries) – Community Partner. Bill Mason, president. This company assists incarcerated individuals through employment in a variety of industries. One group led our playground reconstruction project during the KaBoom Playground rebuild in Aug. 2017, acting as foremen for the project.
  • Columbus Early Learning Centers – Community Partner. CELC has provided nurturing care and meaningful early learning experiences to Columbus children for more than 125 years.
  • Tony and Aziza West – African and African-American inspired drumming and dance – educating as well as entertaining in a historical manner. The Wests’ have provided thirty years of community art, arts residencies, training and cultural contributions to our city.
  • Mosheh Clark – Mr. Clark is an exemplary CCH alumni where he began as a “Central Kid,” went on to become a Transit Arts/Art in the House Apprentice Artist and an apprentice in CCH Finance Office. He is an OSU graduate where he was also a mentor with the Kirwan Institute’s “More than my Brother’s Keeper” program, and has now become a CCH Board Member.
